What Are Dental Veneers?
The Benefits of Custom-Crafted Porcelain Veneers
Versatile Solution
Our dentists can use veneers to obscure a wide variety of cosmetic concerns, including chips, cracks, stains, gaps between teeth, misshapen teeth, and more.
Natural-Looking Smile
We manufacture veneers out of high-end porcelain that near-perfectly resembles the appearance of natural enamel. Plus, every veneer is uniquely designed to fit perfectly in the patient's smile. You can expect your veneers to look just like your natural teeth.
Instant Results
Thanks to our state-of-the-art CEREC® technology, we can design and place your dental veneers in a single appointment. You can enter our Newport office with stained or otherwise flawed teeth, and then you can leave just a few hours later with a bright, dazzling smile you'll be excited to share.
Same-Day Veneers Thanks to CEREC® Technology
Our office in Newport, TN, features many cutting-edge dental tools, but perhaps the most revolutionary of them all is our CEREC (chairside economical restoration of esthetic ceramics) machine.
The CEREC machine analyzes digital scans of your bite and then sculpts dental porcelain into crowns or veneers that fit perfectly into your smile. Best of all, it can complete this process in less than an hour.
While other practices require you to schedule multiple appointments over several weeks to receive veneers, Newport Family Dental Care offers you the unbeatable convenience of same-day dentistry. We welcome patients from Sevierville, Morristown, and throughout the area to experience our ultra-efficient care.

Cosmetic dentistry is not covered by dental insurance, so patients should expect to pay out-of-pocket for porcelain veneers. We offer several ways to help patients manage the cost of veneers, including financing through CareCredit®.

Porcelain Veneers FAQs
Does veneer placement hurt?
No. Veneers are practically painless because your dentist can numb the area before treatment begins. Our Newport dental practice also offers sedation options if you need extra comfort measures. If at any point you experience pain during or after your treatment, please let us know immediately so we can address your issues promptly. Your teeth may be sensitive for awhile after placement, but this will fade.
How long do veneers last?
With proper care and maintenance, your porcelain veneers can last for a decade or longer. It is important to remember that once the tooth is altered, it will always require a restoration.
Are veneers a better option than teeth whitening?
If you have discolored teeth, you may be wondering if you should invest in professional teeth whitening or in porcelain veneers. The right solution for you will depend on the nature of your dental stains. If you simply have surface-level stains, teeth whitening can effectively brighten your smile, and whitening is more affordable and less invasive than veneers. However, some stains don't respond to whitening. In that case, dental veneers are probably the best available option.
What's the difference between a crown and a veneer?
A dental crown is essentially a tooth-shaped cap that completely covers a natural tooth. Veneers, on the other hand, only cover the front surfaces of teeth. Crowns are usually used to protect teeth that have been treated with root canal therapy, but they can be used for cosmetic purposes, as well. Whether we use a crown or a veneer to improve the appearance of an imperfect tooth will often depend on the extent of enhancement needed. A tooth that was broken due to trauma will probably benefit from a crown; an anterior tooth with a chip is probably better suited for a veneer.
How do I take care of my veneers?
Living with veneers doesn't require any major changes to your normal dental routine. If you brush and floss every day and visit Newport Family Dental Care for a check-up at least twice a year, your veneers can easily last for a decade or longer.
Veneers or orthodontics—which is right for me?
Veneers are often referred to as instant orthodontics because they can conceal minor misalignment. However, if you have moderate-to-severe orthodontic issues, orthodontic treatment is probably a better option. Our Newport dental practice offers ClearCorrect®, a clear orthodontic alternative to braces. We can also coordinate care with a trusted orthodontist if traditional braces are a better solution for you.
